I am a specialist in educational philosophy and currently Senior Lecturer at Liverpool Hope University, UK.
My research is focused on subjectivity and the relationship between education and wider discourses and practices of governance and accountability. Drawing on poststructuralist, postcritical, and American philosophical traditions, I have focused on the ways in which citizenship and educational research have been recast in recent policy and practice (national and international), and on how this shift has impacted on education in formal (school, higher education) and informal (family) settings. I am currently focused on the ‘agency’ of digital technologies in educational practices. You can can find details on publications in these areas here.
I am currently Treasurer of the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain (PESGB), a learned society that promotes the advancement of philosophical inquiry in to education.
I am Reviews Editor at the Journal of Philosophy of Education. You can read our book reviews and author interviews here. Do get in touch if you are interested in reviewing a book, or have just published one that we should know about.
I am also a freelance copy editor. Visit Edition Proofreading and Copy Editing for further details.
